Dr. Ruma Devi is an Indian traditional handicraft designer, social worker, and global speaker from Barmer, Rajasthan. Known for her contribution to rural development and traditional craft revival, she has become a prominent voice in promoting Indian handicrafts and empowering communities through skill development initiatives.

As the President of Gramin Vikas Evam Chetna Sansthan (GVCS) and Director of the Ruma Devi Foundation, she has actively worked towards women’s empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and preserving traditional craftsmanship. Her initiatives have created opportunities for thousands of women while strengthening local artisan communities.

Dr. Ruma Devi has trained and supported over 50,000 women artisans across the Thar region and currently serves as the Brand Ambassador of RAJEEVIKA under the Government of Rajasthan. Through her work and leadership, she continues to inspire social change while promoting India’s rich cultural and craft heritage on national and global platforms.
