Manoj Mukund Naravane is a distinguished retired Indian Army officer who served as the 28th Chief of the Army Staff. With a career spanning decades of dedicated service, he played a key role in shaping India’s military strategy and leadership during crucial periods. He took over as Chief from Bipin Rawat in December 2019 and also served as the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee until his retirement in April 2022.

Prior to becoming the Army Chief, General Naravane held several high-ranking leadership positions, including Vice Chief of Army Staff and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Command and Army Training Command. His extensive operational experience across diverse regions, along with his strategic command roles, made him one of the most respected leaders in the Indian armed forces.
