She made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with the film ‘Andaz’, a major box office success. Regarded as one of the most charismatic and stylish actresses in Bollywood, she has appeared in various commercial blockbuster movies like Kaal, Masti, No Entry, Bhagam Bhag, Partner, Housefull & Chalo Dilli. Lara made her digital debut with Hotstar special in the comedy-action web show Hundred.
One of the notable roles in her entire career is portraying former Prime Minister ‘Indira Gandhi’ in BellBottom (2021).
She was appointed as the ‘UN Population Fund Goodwill Ambassador’ in 2001 and has used her talent & fame to advocate for reproductive health education.
Lara has also hosted various film award shows, including International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, Filmfare Awards & Zee Cine Awards. She has also been an anchor for events outside the glamour arena, like the Maritime Standard Awards in 2017.
