Bhumi Pednekar began her journey as an assistant casting director before breaking into acting with a memorable debut in Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), a role that earned her immediate acclaim and industry recognition. She quickly became known for portraying resilient, small-town women with authenticity—a trajectory marked by standout performances in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Bala, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Saand Ki Aankh, and Badhaai Do, the latter two earning her Filmfare Critics Awards for Best Actress.
Beyond cinema, Bhumi is a passionate environmentalist and climate advocate. She has been appointed as India’s first National Advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals by UNDP, and she spearheads the “Climate Warrior” campaign to foster awareness and actionable change.
