He is primarily known for his antagonist characters. A talented and multilingual performer, Ashish has acted in over 200 films across 12 different languages over the 25 years of his acting career. After a successful theatre career, he first came into the limelight on television in the comedy series Hum Panchi Ek Chawl Ke.
After a few minor roles in films, he finally got his break in Naajayaz and Baazi in 1995. Ever since, he has acted in many films, including Begum Jaan (2017), Barfi!’ (2012), LOC Kargil (2003), Major Saab (1998), and Ziddi (1997), among others.
Ashish founded ‘Avid Miner Conversations’, his entrepreneurial venture. The company helps organisations with their needs and challenges by curating customised out-of-the-box modules. Performative storytelling and conversational tools are used for effective personal and professional development.
Awards and Accomplishments
Ashish received the National Film Award for the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for his film Drohkaal in 1995. In 2005 he received the Filmfare Award for ‘Best Villain– Telugu’, for Athanokkade, apart from other awards and nominations
