Anupama Chopra is an Indian author, journalist, and film critic known for her influential contribution to cinema journalism and film analysis. Through her work across television, digital platforms, and publications, she has become one of the most recognized voices in Indian cinema commentary.
She served as the Festival Director of the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival from 2015 to 2023 and also founded Film Companion, a platform dedicated to cinema-focused discussions and storytelling. Over the years, she has worked with leading media organizations including NDTV, India Today, and Hindustan Times while hosting film review programs and interviews with prominent personalities from the entertainment industry.
Anupama Chopra has also written several books on Indian cinema and received the National Film Award for Best Book on Cinema for Sholay: The Making of a Classic. Continuing her journey in film journalism, she joined the Indian edition of The Hollywood Reporter in 2024, further strengthening her role in shaping cinema conversations and criticism.
