He spent over 25 years at FCB Ulka, one of India’s leading ad agencies, where he served as Executive Director and played a pivotal role in building long-term brand strategies for companies like Tata, Wipro, Zee, and many more. An engineer from IIT Madras and an MBA from IIM Calcutta, he also holds a PhD from Mumbai University focused on religious influences in consumer behavior.

Dr. Ambi is the author of multiple acclaimed books including For God’s Sake, Nawabs, Nudes, Noodles, and SPONGE: Leadership Lessons I Learnt From My Clients—each offering a unique lens into India’s evolving marketplace, consumer psyche, and leadership paradigms.

Currently, he is a Distinguished Professor of Marketing at SPJIMR and an advisor to Jio Institute, while also serving on various corporate boards and academic councils.
