Lt. Gen. Satish Dua (Retd.) is a highly decorated Indian Army veteran and strategic affairs expert, best known for his pivotal role in India’s national security architecture. A former Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC) and Corps Commander in Kashmir, he played a critical role in planning and executing the 2016 Surgical Strikes— a landmark moment in India’s modern military history.

With over four decades of service, Lt. Gen. Dua has led numerous high-stakes counter-insurgency operations, commanded elite divisions in sensitive regions, and served at the highest levels of military planning and inter-services coordination. He was instrumental in the creation of India’s Defence Cyber and Space Agencies, reflecting his foresight in preparing India for new-age warfare.

An acclaimed author and speaker, his memoir India’s Bravehearts offers a powerful narrative on the courage and complexity of military life. He is also a strategic advisor to think tanks like Usanas Foundation, and is frequently invited to speak on national security, leadership, and defence strategy across platforms.
