ADVOCATE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA | NIRBHAYA CASE

Seema Samridhi also known as Seema Samridhi Kushwaha is an advocate at the Supreme Court of India former National Spokesperson of Bahujan Samaj Party.

About Seema Samridhi Kushwaha
Because of her long legal fighting, all the four adult convicts were executed by hanging at Tihar Jain on 20 March 2020.

Seema, a dedicated legal professional and advocate for justice, played a pivotal role in one of India’s most significant legal battles—the Nirbhaya case. As a law trainee at the time, she actively participated in protests demanding justice and later officially became Nirbhaya’s lawyer in 2014, relentlessly advocating for the swift execution of the four adult convicts.

Her commitment extended beyond the courtroom when she joined the Nirbhaya Jyoti Trust as a legal advisor on January 24, 2014. Founded by the victim’s parents, the trust provides legal aid and shelter to women affected by violence. Determined to expedite justice, she pushed for a Fast-Track Court listing, despite multiple legal delays caused by review and curative petitions. After years of relentless legal battles, her unwavering efforts culminated in the issuance of the final death warrant on March 4, 2020, leading to the execution of the convicts on March 20, 2020, at 5:30 a.m. in Tihar Jail—marking a historic moment in India’s judicial system. Seema continues to be a voice for women’s rights and justice, using her platform to drive legal reforms and empower survivors of violence.
